Gap between Fuel Nozzle & Cap Liner

I work with GE7EA (liquid fuel) and, according new/refurbished spare that I have in my warehouse, I have gas tip (Fuel Nozzle): 5.166 and cap bore (Liner): 5.258, totalizing a gap of +- .092". However, I need to repair one set Fuel Nozzle and my serivce supplier is recommending increase of diameter gas tip to 5.245", reducing the gap to around .013".

So, I'd like to know what can to happen (related wear/fretting of the parts; cooling between fuel nozzle and Liner; instability flame; etc.) if I use a "gap" less than .084", around .013" to .035".

Anyone can also tell me what are the dimensions used to gas tip (Fuel Nozzle), cap bore (Liner) and the "gap" expected between them.
