I am looing for a suggestion for a 4-20 ma control valve that would work to control the flow of propane gas to a BBQ or smoker. My idea for a small valve is an 8" and cost in the thousands of dollars. I am looing for a small, inexpensive valve that is controllable using a 4-20mA loop or maybe a voltage out of a plc. The pressure regulator works at about 11 inches of water column. Any ideas?

Honeywell and Robertshaw make modulating gas valves. Invensys too, I would assume, among others. There are some special requirements for gas valve trains, so make sure you review the design with someone familiar with their use.
