I have the responsibility to specify suitable gas detectors for crude-oil facilities in Nigeria.

The facilities are pump station are basically collection point of crude-oil from well head which are then transfer to a collection terminal

I will appreciate if someone can recommend suitable gas detectors for this activity while bearing in mind the ambient conditions in Nigeria.

 

Understand, you are talking about gas detectors for environmental releases which are part of Fire & Gas System of the facility out there.

In addition to technical specification,weather protection (IP), environmental temperature limits and protection against corrosion (sea-shore installation)need your attention. You must collect location specific data and suitably add to specification.
You will find many vendors meeting above requirement.

Your options with vendors/models will limited depending upon your technical inputs like,
1. Whether the detectors are to be connected on multidrop mode or on individual 4-20 mA interface.
2. Whether you consider IR or catalytic bead sensors for your application.
3. What are the product certification requirements at your facility.

It is not clear whether the requirement is for existing facility or it is a new project.
