We have a problem with our ALSTHOM gas turbine model PG 5341 “P”-24.250MW. This unit had an unnormal periodical vibration between (0.2-0.5 in/s). the operator stopped the unit, but this stopping happened far sooner than normally did, which caused damage to the journal bearing of the exhaust side, failure of the shaft, and contacting the turbine blades to the casing.

After repairing the unit, it operated for 8 days, and then again the same failure happened without we know why.
Please, help us concerning the cause of this problem.
