I have a 10 MW generator (11kV) driven by a steam turbine synchronising onto a process plant grid. What are acceptable voltage, frequency and phase angle sync limits? And does anybody have any documents that can support this (Aust standards)?

 

If you believe the government of your country or one of its departments/ministries has rules or regulations regarding the parameters involved in synchronization you should most likely contact the appropriate department or ministry.

Or, the utility (possibly state-owned or state-controlled) could probably best advise you of their requirements, which are likely based on any governmental regulations or requirements.

Otherwise, you should be asking the generator manufacturer or the packager of the prime mover and generator for their guidelines.

 

The parameters as mentioned by you is fixed by the manufacturer of the synchroscope.

 

What brand and model synchronising and load sharing module are you using? Eg: Woodward easYgen 3100, Si-TEC CGC etc
