We have four Diesel generators whose ratings are 200kVA, 1800rpm, 400V, 60Hz. But we have CNC machines which we have to run from these generators. CNC machines' ratings are 380V and 50Hz. I want to know that what will be effect on generators and the machines if we run these machines from 60Hz generators rating. If anyone can help us, please reply soon. We are anxiously waiting, and if anybody knows any other site related to solve this problem, please write us.

Thanks,

Hello.

If you run 60 hz generator (4 pole) to 50 hz, then it means that you have to run engine at 1500 RPM. It means that rate of cutting of flux will decrease, and to maintain voltage, excitation current should be increased (AVR readjusted) and 380 V machines will take less current at 400 voltage.

Best regards.
