I am trying to create a program that opens a usb port where a midi adapter is connected and then looks for a midi signal and then using that signal simulates a keystroke. This will be used in controlling Powerpoint Presentation via midi devices.

 

that would be a cool program. i'd love a realtime midi to keystroke conversion program.

I would expect there are chips for this since that is pretty much what a midi instrument does. When I retire, I'm gonna play with music electronics.
