Good introductory level book on Process Control and Instrumentation

I am a relatively inexperienced Mechanical Eng working in Power Plant construction and commissioning. I am trying to broaden my knowledge and understand the design process behind creating systems.

I have a good understanding of the mechanical side but I would like to be able to create or design a P&ID for a given system e.g. Water Treatment Plant or Feedwater for a boiler

I plan to study myself, a practical text book with examples/tutorials would be ideal!

You Feed back would be Greatly Appreciated.
the book Steam generation and its use publshed by Babcock and Wilcox, is an excellent introduction.
