Hello List
We need a method to recieve time signals from the GPS (or other) satellites in order to get a reference to GMT. Who makes such a receiver/device that will connect to a Wonderware server PC?
Thanks for the info on this and many other interesting topics.

Hello Phil,

GPS clocks give either time synchronization pulses with a frequency of 1 pulse per sec. Certain GPS clocks give the time and date data on serial link. The format of the string differs from each clock manufacturer. Normally used standards are NTP (network time protocol) , HOPF format etc.. GPS receiver clocks are available from Hathaway, Telefault, Truetime, Meinberg ..... More info on the network time protocol and software can be found at http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~ntp/index.html
