Hello List
We need a method to recieve time signals from the GPS (or other) satellites in order to get a reference to GMT. Who makes such a receiver/device that will connect to a Wonderware server PC?

Try Trimble (www.trimble.com). Their SVeeEight Plus is and excellent GPS receiver. It has an RS232 interface.

Hello Phil,

GPS clocks give either time synchronization pulses with a frequency of 1 pulse per sec. Certain GPS clocks give the time and date data on serial link. The format of the string differs from each clock manufacturer. Normally used standards are NTP (network time protocol) , HOPF format etc.. Please check out the www.lantronix.com web site they have a network time server which takes a GPS signal to syncronize the time of your PC's
