whether sheathed grounded thermocouple can be connected to an isolator? . In one of the application notes it was warned not to connect a
grounded thermocouple with an isolator. may any one come out with reasons why such a warning is issued.

As the thermocouple is a conductor, connecting it to an isolator on one side and ground on the other side would discharge the electrostatic energy from the isolator to the ground trough the thermocouple. The thermocouple could be
destroyed by this equalisation current. This is also valid for most sensitive electronic devices (especially IC's).
