Our machine is working fine on fuel gas when we try on fuel oil it trips in step-15, which is GT speed must be greater than 15-HZ. this means machine speed must be 900-RPM, but in this step speed of machine 600-RPM or 650-RPM and machine trips on alarm flame failure. we have checked the fuel injection system, Fuel oil valve and other related system looking fine.

plz help how to resolve and what could be the root cause.

I maintain a V84.2 machine. Typically when we have fuel oil light off problems, we lower the light off speed. In general, the colder the temperature the lower the light off speed.

For Siemens V-type machine initial firing OTC temperature suppose to be at 480c. If it is cold start check the Propane gas pressure for 2.2 Bar. If you are not getting Minimum OTC Temperature with 2.2Bar Propane pressure adjust the F.O valve minimum position for more closing in Returne line(More opening as %). If you are using F.O transfer valve check the passing from air side.

 

Thank you very much sir for your guidance i will check these points in next opportunity. One thing i want share that machine normally runs on gas. we have tried cold start up of machine on F.O. If we try to start the machine in hot condition is it possible that we can overcome OTC issue?

Sure you can go for Fuel oil Hot start upto 240c OTC. For that you should study the start up profile of the particular turbine, since each turbine, even though it may be the same model have different combustion profile. If you are sending me the start_up curves including CDP, F.O valve POS., OTC and IGV Position we can guide you.
