Help Required- Smoke Detector Installation

I want to have more detailed about the points that have to be considered for installation Smoke detector in MCC and switch rooms.
If there is a specific standard or regulation that is used for, I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me. In our sites we only use conventional smoke detectors (ionization or photoelectric).
