Does anyone know of reasonable cost HMI software with a driver for Compumotor servo controller 6K2, to be installed on desktop PC.

Compumotor's own CTC Interact product is just too expensive for this application.

Thanks, ray pike

Ray,

The 6K2 has a comm driver already developed that you can use with Visual Basic. Is there a reason that you don't want to use VB? Another
alternative is to use a stand-alone HMI from Parker CTC ($1000) or Exor (www.exor-rd.com and much less than $1000). I haven't used the CTC product yet, but I've heard good things about it. I've had great luck with the Exor product and have used it for years with several different Compumotor products.

I've got a lot of experience with the 6K2 (all of Parker's electro-mechanical products for that matter) & operator interfaces. Please don't hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns.

Siemens has a product called ProTool/Pro which will run on any PC. This product is capable of OPC. You can buy OPC drivers for just about anything out there. I am sure that there is an OPC for the Compumotor. If you have not chosen the PC yet, then you may want to consider Siemens for that also. The PC670 is an integrated PC with touch screen or keypad. The Box PC640 or
PC840 is the same PC but without the integrated monitor. IF you have any further questions please feel free to call me.

If you are reasonably good at VB you can roll your own. The Compumotor Com6srvr ActiveX communication server is pretty good and allows alot of flexibility.

Compumotor at one time had LabVIEW Virtual Instruments for their Drives and Controllers. LabVIEW is a relatively in-expensive HMI, starting at $995 for their base package. It allows unlimited I/O. You might check out

I believe Compumotor DOES have a little COM object that can be used to talk to Compumotor 6K drives via Visual Basic or any program supporting COM.
