Honeywell UDC3000 Setup Problems

Hello all,

this is my first post to the forum. I bought an old Honeywell UDC3000 from eBay but I'm having some problems with the setup and configuration.

I downloaded the manual and it says to press the SETUP key to cycle through the menus. However when I press the key it only goes through two options, TUNING and SP RAMP. It just keeps repeating those two. How can I get to the other options or do a factory reset? The manual doesn't mention any kind of reset.

The inability to navigate past the TUNING and SPRAMP groups means that a security setting for LOCKOUT is set to +VIEW or Max.

The LOCKOUT group is found by using the FUNCTION key to move through the functions in the TUNING group

A four digit security code is needed to access the LOCKOUT group to change to NONE or CAL (I recommend CAL so that calibration functions do not show up in the navigation list during ordinary configuration access)

There have been 3 or 4 generations of UDC 3000's and navigation differs slightly from generation to generation.

I think that there is a 4 digit backdoor "works-on-every UDC" code, but I don't have it. Honeywell support would. 800 423-9883

The method for the factory reset for the latest generation UDC 3200 is at the link below. It probably works for your model, too.

Thanks for the info. I was able to set LOCKOUT to NONE and no code was required. Changed it to the right thermocouple type and its working! My model is pretty old and has the green bezel.

This is for a homemade coffee bean roaster. Turns out those old hot air popcorn poppers work great for small batches of beans.
