I have to control unit; one is AB PLC 5 (support only RS232, DF1) and another is Honeywell Experion PKS. I have an idea to integrate AB PLC5 to be shown on PKS. And I'd like to know which is the best solution to implement. Now I have a few solution in my mind,
1. Set up AB PLC OPC server and use PKS as client the integrate them via ethernet network.
2. Set up new hardware and integrate them via DF1.

I still do not know the detail of those solution. And if there is any better solution, please let me know.

My understanding is that Experion PKS uses RSLinx to connect the the AB PLC's and this is provided by Honeywell with your system.

Hi!!!

EPKS supports AB PLC families, U need to build the channel using Quick Builder. Just while Quick builder new project u have to select the third party devices to whom u want to communicate.

And build a driver using Rslinx... and build a channnel using Quick builder and get going.
