In Sejingkat Coal Fired Power Plant, compressed air used for Service Air System and Instrument Air System. For Service Air System, compressed air is use to supply air for general maintenance work in Boiler House, Turbine Hall and Induce Fan Hall which inclusive of painting, cleaning and driving pneumatic tools. Beside that, Service Air System also used to supply air for purging oil guns and fuel oil piping system. For the Instrument Air System, compressed air is use to provide clean, dry pressurize air to various form of instrumentation system and controllers through the plant especially boiler and turbine.
The system to be improved in this proposal is Instrument Compressed Air System. In some instrument or instrumentation design, compressed air is design to bleed where it release to atmosphere continuously. In order to maintain compressed air supply pressure for continuous operation, it is a quite challenge for Maintenance Crew especially Instrument and Control (I&C) maintenance team, as it was designed in such manner. Therefore, I&C Department suggest a proposal that is, if the lost from bleed air can be optimize or limits to certain measure, Sejingkat Coal Fired Power Plant may reduces the compressed air consumption and as a results increase the plant efficiency via power saving in air compressor. Beside that, other benefit like identified and repaired system leak, improve system efficiency and reliability and lowering the maintenance cost as well as more stable compress air supply.
