How to read/decode the contents of Triconex TCE log files? These files contain the system log on the hardware faults.

The TCE (Tricon) or TDE (Trident) is only readable with special software. The service engineers in your region can do that for you, or go to the customer net of Triconex and ask them to do it for you.

In order to read these log files with *.TCE extension, you need Triconex Trilog software, which is under the care of Technical Assistant Centre of Invensys who owns Triconex safety PLC. The latest version of Tristation 1131 may incorporate function to read these TCE log files without additional software.

You may not understand how to analyse what kind of hardware faults in the system if you managed to open and read the file content. This is a diagnostics tool that requires training or you can choose to contact Technical Assistant Centre of Invensys world-wide. Hope this helps.

The Triconex Enhanced Diagnostics Monitor now allows users to read Tricon (and soon) Trident event log files. I would still pass it by a Triconex Support Engineer in Irvine. Its free to speak with them... or just send an email with the tce file attached to [email protected], a Triconex engineer should get back to you in a few days max. They usually get back to you the same day.
