We are looking at possibly replacing a TDC3000 with a CS3000 in a series of staged cutovers on a poorly unitised plant, so have interim periods where

1)Yoko FCSs will need to exchange interlocks and process data data with Honeywell HPM/APM/LM

2) Yoko HIS stations can read/write Honeywell HPM/APM/LM via LCN/NIM with view to running plant from HIS after first shutdown e.g. need trends, alarms, faceplates connected, etc.

We are trying to avoid hardwire interfacing due to number of signals.

We could use mailbox PLCs with a couple of Modbus ports or similar to join the systems but this is not preferred if some kind of OPC-OPC (ExaOPC<->AppNode) solution has been shown to work previously - we need maximum flexibility to cope with possible unexpected variations in staging/cutover battery limits and order.

Anyone got any experience with this and if so any kind of indication of performance?

Yokogawa has products called 'Generic Subsystem Gateway Package' and 'System Integration OPC
Client Package' that may help you through the initial steps of your conversion. I would try to migrate away from OPC ASAP.

Despite the extreme scepticism of the moderator (see the title that was applied to the post) we have managed to achieve this inter-connectivty - 2000 tags a second, direct faceplate and alarm compatability on the Yoko Centum VP.

If anyone else has a similar need contact me at

or contact Yokogawa Australia.
