I/O connections

In intent, anything and everything that can be in any way connected to a PC (or other platform running Linux).

In practice, whatever people write drivers for.

At present, well, there's the beginnings of support for *one* card (or rather family of cards).

The rest of the LinuxPLC is at about the same stage: there are beginnings of code starting to show up in the CVS, and parts of the basic structure are laid down and implemented, but a lot more work will be needed before it is useful for anything.

So, if you want to join in and contribute, welcome! and dive in - with code, comments or suggestions! Otherwise, I'm afraid, you are early...

Windows is not popular. Windows is *widespread*. Linux is popular.

Hi

Right now it supports the CIO-DIO48 and CIO-DIO48H cards from ComputerBoards and compatibles from many others. Soon it will support Ethernet IO from Optimate and probably Opto22. Anything with or that promises Linux drivers will be
supported first. Proprietary IO will be supported with contributed drivers which will be seperate from the project to avoid legal complications.

Regards
