Dear Sir,

Is it possible to impliment ICCP over VSAT media instead of leased lines. If no then what are the resions behind.

Yes. ICCP (IEC6087-6 TASE.2) will run over any WAN connection that can support routing of IP packets. ICCP-TASE.2 is an application layer protocol that uses Port 102 of TCP. ICCP-TASE.2 is independent of the underlying WAN. Bandwidth and latency differences between your leased line and VSAT links will have an affect on performance,
obviously, but this is not specific to ICCP-TASE.2.

Hello,

ICCP (aka IEC 60870-6 TASE.2) relies on the passing of MMS-Messages, so it is theoretically independant of the transport layer. However most
installations use TCP/IP with OSI transport PDUs tunnelled in TCP/IP (RFC1006). So if you can get TCP packets across your media you have a good
chance. Otherwise you will require an ICCP stack, that allows you to exchange the transport layer. However be of course aware, that both ends of
the communication link must have the same profile (or you must provide gateways in between).

Best regards,
