I know many devices now claim to be standard compliant with IEC 61131-3. Also, I have seen that "compliant" does not mean much in some cases. I was wondering if it is possible to create a standard type of uploader that can upload standard IEC 61131-3 code from PLCs or SoftPLCs such as the Beckhoff TwinCAT, CoDeSYS, etc.

 

IEC 61131-3 is a description of the programming language only. It doesn't deal with how to upload or download programs, or with the format of the program inside the PLC.
