Anyone know where I can get free IEC 61131 training? It appears that this is steadily becomming the new programming standard.

Check out PLCopen.org for some resources. - als ISA offers courses on IEC as well some IEC vendors such as Wago and Beckhoff.

WAGO offers free training on IEC 61131 at theer facility and remotely. You can register online for the training at their corporate offices in Germantown, WI (Milwaukee): http://www.wago.com/web/index.php?country=us&language=en&key=535_

or contact the local Sales Manager for a seminar in your area:
http://www.wago.com/web/index.php?country=us&language=en&key=442_

The course in Germantown is 3 days and about 1/2 of that is dedicated to programming. You can also download a free DEMO version of their IEC 61131 program. It is a full version of the software.. the only reason it is a demo is because the program is lost once power is cycled.

Click on http://www.wago.com/web/index.php?country=us&language=en and then scroll to the bottom of the page.

You might also want to check http://www.plcopen.org for online tutorials.
