Can IEC 870-5-101 and 103 be implemented over ethernet networks?

I mean i want to know if that protocols can be implemented over this kind of networks in order to work within a intrasubstation control system?

Jose,

IEC 60870-5-103 describes a protocol for protection data.

IEC 60870-5-101 is a communication protocol for SCADA.

Originally 101 and 103 are both serial protocols but I think they can be implemented over Ethernet network.

Perhaps it is IEC-60870-5-104 what you are looking for. It describes the transport of IEC 60870-5-101 data over TCP/IP.

IEC 60870-5-101 and 103 are not meant to be used over ethernet networks directly. Ethernet can however act as a back-bone. You could use a serial-to-ethernet converter at both ends, to make use of the ethernet back-bone.

I believe this is defined in IEC 60870-5-104 "Ethernet access (TCP/IP and UDP/IP) for IEC 60870-5-101"
