In the US, the hard hats seem to have a molded 'slot' on the each side. There are a number of LED flashlights that are designed to fit into the slot on the side of the hardhat. There are hundreds of models with straps that fit around a hard hat. There are even lamps rated for hazardous areas, Class 1, div 2 or class 1, div 1. As my father said, you pay your money, you take your choice.
