Industrial monitors

I have a Xycom monitor connected to a PLC 5/02 but I wanted to change it to a newer PLC 5/03. The problem is that when I installed the new processor the monitor did not recognize it, the company Xycom told me that I need to program the I/O with "Operator Interface Language"(OIL) or buy the softscreen editor that costs 750 DLLS. Of course I'd like to try the OIL that according to them is a text drivin HMI package. Does somebody ever work with this language?

Thanks in advance...

To AHerrera,

Please feel free to contact me at [email protected]. I am the product manager for the HMI product line. I have been with Xycom for 15 years and have access to the manuals, and even retain some memory on how to program in this language, Operator Interface Language (OIL).

I have programed in OIL extensivly in the late 80's and early 90's. Let me know if you need help.
