I begin to do position control mechanical system. Where I may get information? I know much theory about automatic control, electronic, programming but not have practice. I need that information: how choose motors(stepper, DC or other), position sensors(resolver, incremental encoder or other) etc. For control I want to do numeric control controller that connect to computer. How choose resolution(precision)(16-bit or other), based on DSP or multi-purpose microprocessor, what consider for correct interfacing to program on main computer(for use standard numeric control format) etc. Are there any books about this? Or Internet sites?
