In one of my project I need to integrate Bar code Scanner (Microscan 880) with ControlLogix Processor using Ethernet Network.

I need information about RSLogix software and Bar code scanner software configuration.

 

Try http://www.ascii-to-plc.com. No Ladder Logic, two ports (you can hook up two RS232 barcode scaanners) and drop dead simple web server setup. It'll take you about 10 minutes and you'll be moving barcodes into the CL data table.

 

We just recently integrated an Accu-Sort Bar Code scanner into one of our ControlLogix machines. We used an ASCII card - ProSoft's MVI56-GSC (http://www.prosoft-technology.com/content/view/full/2927) to read the bar code scanner. This card is very useful if you have more than one device to talk to serially or if you don't want to use the front port on the ControlLogix.

 

You might use our Omnii-Comm to do this for you. See this link http://www.miille.com/din266-p00.pdf for more information. You would configure the Omnii-Comm with ASCII protocol on one port and DF-1 protocol on another. We can write the bar code scanner data to a user specified tag in the ControlLogix.
