I am asked to prepare a Interposing Relay Panel (IRP) I/O List. I need advice on how to present the DCS DO in the list.
The IRP will be receiving two inputs from DCS output (24V DC). One is DCS output for start and second for DCS stop. Each DCS output will energise a interposing relay in the IRP panel. The relay contact will be connected to the pump MCC for start and stop. Normally, a 'NC' contact will start the pump and a 'NO' contact will stop the pump.
So, should I show a 'NO' or 'NC' for the IRP relay contact in the I/O list for DCS start and stop? In another words, should I show the IRP relay contact in energised stage? Hope my explanation is clear enough.
