I have read that if you want to connect a Unity Premium PLC with Vijeo Citect, it is better to use OFS instead of direct Modbus TCP Driver, do you know why?

According to a Technical Overview of Vijeo Citec, OFS guarantees Fast communication to PLC, do you know if it is faster than Modbus TCP Driver?

The simple logic behind what you have mentioned is that - if the system have a built in driver then more likely it is faster than a system which have link thru a third party server. Like for example ,when you say which is faster a WINCC HMI on a Siemens PLC or a Wonderware or Citect HMI on a Simens PLC. Surely it is the WINCC since it is designed by Siemens and the communications between Siemens PLC is direct whereas the other two would pass either on an external driver or an IOserver.

Another angle would be their speed, try to examine the communications speed specifications, then try to compare.
