Has anyone developed a solution to reading J1939 engine parameters into a Siemens CP340/341 card and parsing the data out?

I really don't know what a J1939 is but when you know what kind of protocol a J1939 can work with, then there is something to say how to communicate with it.

A CP340 have a ASCII protocol and i believe also P3964 and RK512, see the manual on the page http://www4.ad.siemens.de and search for the ID 1137332 and you may download the manual as ebook.

With the CP341 you have the protocols of the CP340 and also some other protocols like Modbus Master/Slave RTU and Data Highway DF1. The ebook you may find on the mentioned page under ID 1117397.

You can also search for CP340 and CP341 on the link. In ID 18590951 there are more loadable drivers that may be used on serial CP's (look out, not all for CP341!!).

Try http://www.anybus.com, they have a gateway J1939 to modbus RTU. CP340/341 apparently can support modbus RTU, so you can have a solution. not tried it myself, but worth checking, I guess.
