I would like to know all the differences between these two types of communication protocol. In fact I have to acquire data from a system supporting Jbus via a modbus link. Can I? or do I need to use an interface to change the communication protocol from jbus to modbus?

J-Bus and Modbus are exactly the same except for first address offset (in Modbus you can read from addresss 40000, in J-Bus you must start at address 40001). We mix J-Bus and Modbus in our applications often, with no problem.
