What are some quality, recognized and respected certifications for this industry. Is anyone familiar with the International Society of Electronics Technicians (ISCET) programs?

ISA provides certification for Control Systems Technicians. This certification, in cooperation with IBEW, is recognized as _the_ certification for Control System Technicians worldwide.

ISA also is the ABET-recognized body responsible for the Control System Engineering Examination, resulting in the PE in Control System Engineering in the United States.

Other certifications of value to automation professionals are the standard Microsoft and Novell certifications, as well as proprietary certifications from automation system manufacturers.

There is also the NICET certification for Instrumentation Technicians which was formed and sponsored by ISA until ISA saw the "money" involved and spun off on their own (probably rightly so)...

National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET), they have been around for a long time and verify Civil Techs etc... got my Certification from them years before my CCST from ISA... very good program also having been jointly formed with ISA...

Just another option and another thing on your resume...
