KOYO vs ADC memory type

Hi all,

I was recently asked for the distinction between KOYO & ADC memory type on plc. The only additional info I've got on that is that KOYO had (R, I, Q, M, T, C, etc.) and ADC (V, X, Y, C, T, CT, etc.) which are probably equivalents.

Can you please in couple of words point what do those abbreviation stand for and what is the difference between them, where are they used, etc.?

Cheers,
Eric

Koyo

R = register I assume
I, Q = common input & output nomenclature outside the US.
M = memory, I assume. Again, common for use overseas.
T = timer
C = counter

ADC

V = variable (probably inherited from TI)
X, Y = common in US but again consistent with TI
C = control relay
T = timer
CT = counter
