At my office, we are discussing relevant and good methods of measuring the oil level in underground caverns, 35 m in height. The measuring instrument should not be in contact with the oil, as wax is a problem. In addition, we are dependent of having the possibility to pull the instrument up to the surface through a vent hole for maintenance.
We have been thinking about radar as the only option. Does anyone have experience with something similar, or have other suggestions?
Thank you in advance
