Hi All

I just want to calculate max force requried for selecting a linear motor. Linear motor has to move with pay load in horizonadal direction. My pay load is 20 kg and the max speed is 4 meter/sec

for calculating this i used the formula f=ma and multiplied 15 and 4 but should i have to multiply this ans with 9.81 for calculating

 

Equation F=ma is correct, but [a] is acceleration in m/sec^2 here.
Inside websites of linear motors' manufacturers as Aerotech, Anorad,Etel, etc. you may find correct way for motor's choosing.
