I want to select a load cell for weight measurement of a reactor. Please guide me how to select a load cell and its range.

 

1. Calculate the "tare" weight of the reactor
2. Calculate "net" weight
3. Sum of 1 + 2 is the total weight
4. The load cells range is ~ 120% of total weight
5. Choose load cells class/accuracy as per your requirement

Deceide the total gross load acting on the reactor, i.e,
The empty weight of reactor
The weight of material
The weight of all acccesories like stirrirs, motors etc

It would be safe if the total load cell capacity is 60% of the total gross load (i presume you would be using 3 load cells or more). If you intend to use high speed stirrers in the vessel then ensure proper mounting of load cell so that all possible vessel vibrations are isolated as far as possible
