I am looking for a remote terminal unit for manipulating I/O over ethernet. I am looking RTUs with input and output modules that have screw terminal on them so I can do some timing analysis. If anybody suggest a vendor, I will appreciate it. The only low cost (and that's a relative term) one I know about is optilogic by Optimation www.optimate.com. I was working on a driver for this but suffer from the time problem. They have their own protocol on top of TCP/IP and sent me some documantation which needed correction. Perhaps others know of other choices. Contact WAGO (more info at www.wago.com). We have remote IO where you can select the required cards (from digital over analog to special functions, even with internal PLC functionality!). Most popular fieldbusses are available and the latest version is Modbus TCP/IP with ethernet connection !
