Low-end HMI - low-cost or Free

I have an application with less than 16 points and need an HMI that is either free or low-cost that can "talk" modbus through a serial port. I do not need any fancy graphics or network support, it is stand alone. The HMI must be capable of monitoring and control.

Any suggestions ?

Why not make one yourself?

Absolutely Free: Set up a Linuxbox and use Kylix to program the HMI. Looks like a pretty simple application.

Low Cost: Set up a Windoze box and use Delphi for the HMI.

You can use terminal which would be low costmay
may be about us $ 695 or us $ 995=00 , comes with
HMI package free, having following functionality
-MODBUS COMMUNICATION
- Trending
-reciepes
graphics
alarms
printing function.

The party could recollect is
Nematron - www.nematron.com
ESA - Italian company
Vipa - german company

If you're going to go that way, you don't need to go to that much effort... MatPLC should have everything you need - it talks modbus out of the box, interfaces with the Glade GUI builder (or you can just use a text screen), and so on.

The real thing that's missing from it is user-friendly documentation; it has some, but not much...
