Hi i'am using the magelis for the first time. The application is modbus plus to modicon plc. The question that i have is if the plc is using coils for alarms do i have put the coil to a bit in the plc for the magelis alarm table.

 

I assume you are using the XBTF HMI with XBTL1000 s.w. To use Alarms use must configure the dialoge table.

Each alarm will be activated by a bit within a 16 bit 4X register defined in the dialogue table. Each word (4X register), therefore can have 16 alarms. The max number of alarms oyu can have is 32 words x 16 bits = 512.

Therefore you will have to set individual bits in any one of the possible 32 words to trigger the alarm. Ypou need to enable each alarm by setting a coil.

Please note XBTF is now an old product, I would suggest you consider XBTGT hardware running under Vijeo Designer on any further applications, better hardware, more reliable and better s/w, more flexible,
