MARK V <C> Core Display Problem

In our MARK V Control System the <C> core display disappears (goes blank) for a while and then reappears.... It's frequent enough now... Happens once or twice in a day.... The dynamic parameter update on <I> is ok.... The turbine operation too is fine....

Is it a sign of an impending failure or some power supply 'loose' connections??? Is it, in anyway, normal...??

We never observed this earlier, so can't be sure if this behaviour was exhibited since the commissioning time... It was accidentally noticed when the panel was opened for a random visual check...

Rahul,

If you are referring to the LCC/SLCC display, it's not normal for this display to go blank at all. Some later SLCC displays seemed to have a "low-power" mode they went into after a few minutes of the last key press, but they were still readable if just a little dim.

Have you tried shutting down the <C> processor and replacing the LCC display? It's likely that it's just the display element.

Thanks... Fortunately we'll shutdown the machine for CI in a few weeks time... Will try changing the Display unit during that period...

One doesn't replace the LCC/SLCC display....sorry. One replaces the entire LCC/SLCC card.
