MarkV Servo Range

Hi,

Is there a way to check from the IO_CFG.LST File to get the ranges of servo outputs?

I am not sure if my servo is +/-10 mA or +/- 120 mA?<pre>

sid100,

The I/O Configurator is used for configuring the software regulators of servo-valve outputs (gains; offsets; biases; regulator type; etc.). The software regulator doesn't care what the milliamp range of the servo coil connected to an output is.

HOWEVER, the TCQC card DOES care what the milliamp range of the servo coil connected to an output is. And, there are hardware ("Berg") jumpers which have to be set to match the servo's milliamp range in order for the output to function properly (for each of the control processors).

I searched the available documentation for the Mark V, and really the only place it is written (that I could find--in GEH-6195D) is in Section 6-10. There is a table and in the 'Comments' section of the table in Section 6-10 it is written: "-10 to +10 mA, 0 to 20 mA, 0 to 40 mA, or 0 - 200 mA selected by jumpers".

(And I'm presuming you are referring to the eight (8) servo-valve outputs of <R>, <S> and <T> (or <R> in a SIMPLEX panel). In a heavy duty gas turbine panel there are some optional "servo" outputs available, but I think they are +/- 10 mA only, and are not jumper selectable. (But I may be wrong about that.)

Hope this helps! In general, GE heavy duty gas turbines only used +/- 10 mA servos. Some steam turbine applications used servos with other ranges, but not usually gas turbines.

Review the application manual GEH-6195. If you don't have one, it can be found doing a quick internet search.

Look in sections 6 or 7. One of those two sections should tell what you are looking for. It has to do with the hardware jumpers on one of the boards. I think it is the TCQC board but am not for certain. Also look in the appendix A. That will have the info on what the jumper setting mean.

Hope this was helpful.
