We have lime slurry in FRP tank. We need to measure it. Which type of level transmitter can we use? This cylindrical tank's dimensions are R=2.2 meter, height=2.6. This tank contains mixer = 0.55 kw. We supply lime and water to the tank continuously by injector. Please advise.

 

We usually use an ultrasonic transmitter for this application.

Another possibility would be a 3" flange mounted DP transmitter mounted on the side of tank at same level as pump suction.

Dear Sattar,

For lime mud slurriers we have used diaphragm sealed 3" flange size DP tranmsitters successfully. The agitator in the tank and continous water addition will not allow the slurry to get deposited and form a cake on the xmitter sensing diaphragm.

You have to set the measurement range as per the tank height and density of the slurry in the tank.
