Mitsubishi FX to PC connection

I have a machine in the factory that ran on FX PLC but do not have the cable to talk to the PLC using Medoc software. Can someone advise the cable pin diagram so that I can make one? Thanks.

The cable to communicate from the PC to the PLC is RS232-RS422. Therefore you will need a converter to communicate from your PC.

The Pin out is listed in the back of the MELSEC MEDOC manual. You will also need an RS-422 converter which you can purchase. B&B Electronics has these converters. OR... you can purchase an SC09N cable which in the end will save you a lot of headache...

You have 2 options because the cable is in fact a RS422 to RS232 converter. You can buy it from Mitsubishi (over $200CAN) or you can use a converter and make the cable afterward. The sdimplest way would be to buy direct.

Paul,

As far as I know the medoc cable has some electronics in the plug, like a dongal. You therefore can't use an ordinary lead.

Wally.

There is no dongle in any cable that we offer. We do offer a cable with the RS232 to RS422 converter supplied as part of the cable assembly. This converter draws power from the PLC programming port.
