I own an F1-12MR-UL mitsubishi PLC which I purchased in the early ninties to learn more about programming. However I never purchased the programmer itself, I was able to borrow the companies. But now many years later I would like to put this like new PLC back into service and need to find the appropriate hardware and or software neccesary to do so. Have had no luck contacting Mitsubishi, this unit is no longer supported. any information would be of grate help.

That makes three of us.

I am just starting out on the PLC route. We usually have a dedicated internal processor for our control system and on the previous occassions where we need PLC control this was either done by our own PLC specialist or the software designers from our sister company.

In recent history our sister company has folded and our PLC specialist has left the company which leaves ME.
I have got to grips with it quite well (OMRON CPM1) and we have had the assistance of a 3rd party controls company. However I have just aquired a Melsec F1-12MR and F1-20MR to play with and hone my new found skills but I need software and connection details.

Any one out there help????

You need a copy of Melsec medoc. It's a DOS based program that allows pc based ladder logic development. It does work quite well and covers a wide varity of mitsu PLCs. The problem you will have with this is finding the communication unit which is now unavailable at any cost. The model # I forget most of but it is f2-****. It converts rs-232 to whatever for this plc F1-***.
The new Fx1s series is inexpensive but GX developer is not. Its a really powerfull program and PLC combination.

well i work for Japan company and they use all type of melsec FX and A and QnA PLc. I use GPP WIN and GX-developer software. als i used to use MEDOC (DOS software).

my point is go to Meau.com and search for hardware and software manual. they have over 5000 PDF manual. i can e-mail you or send you on CD if you like, for free.

Hello Ted, I appreciated this is a very old posting re the Medoc/Melsec software but please allow me to introduce myself, Steve Aldridge Lift Engineer & control panel designer now retired, I was having a bit of a clear out and stumbled across an old Mitsubishi F1-60 and would like to put it to use but I do not have the early Medoc/Melsec software etc, I have the serial port cable & interface unit simply no software, I appreciated that these days GX developer is mainly used but from forums it is not compatible with the F1 series PLC's, if you can help it would be much appreciated, best wishes, Steve.
