MkV FSR acceleration control

We have GE MS5002B (regenerative cycle) gas turbines with Mark V control system. During startup we have problems with flame stability (sometimes loss of flame). “MkV Controls Settings Specification” has the explanation of the situation: ...after warmup is complete, the starting device applies full torque to the turbine shaft. This may cause the turbine shaft to accelerate beyond the turbine acceleration reference, TNHAR. The error between the actual acceleration and the acceleration reference may drive FSRACC lower until it reaches minimum FSR, FSRMIN. This should be avoided to prevent a reverse temperature cycle... My question is: How can I AVOID this? Should I adjust starting device or acceleration reference? Thanks a lot to markvguy (and hope for help).

Hello,

You have not been forgotten! This author has no access to a Mark V Control Spec at this time (he's on the road).

A response will be posted shortly.

To avoid loss of flame, reduce the turbine warmup time (K2W) to reach turbine to acceleration speed in a small time.
