I want to use one windows HMI PC with Wonderware on Modicon 434 CPU. the CPU is used in redundant configuration. how can i connect it to CPU so that HMI is alive after CPU switching?

From my experience, no special configuration needed to connect wonderware to Modicon Quantum 434 CPU in redundant configuration, but you have to use Modbus ethernet or modbus plus for communication protocol between wonderware I/O server and CPU 434.

Once you assign TCP/IP address (for quantum ethernet module) or modbus plus address (for and modbus plus port at 434 CPU) for primary CPU, one level higher node address will be assigned to standby CPU. The two address will switched automatically between primary and stanby CPU in case of switchover

So, wonderware I/O server only need to access primary CPU address and no need to know stanby CPU address or when switchover will be happen

Your question is a little vague. Are we talking true 'HOTSTANDBY'? What s/w?

What coms are you using MB+, Modbus Modbus TCP/IP?

Where is the coms connected on the quantum, add-on module in rack, or directly from CPU?
