Looking for a bridge/protocol converter to connect a legacy AMI-6000 system with built-in Modbus ASCII to a slave system that only has RTU.

Hi

FieldServer Technologies has the FS-B4010-01 with multiple serial ports which can be loaded with Modbus RTU & Modbus ASCII, master and slave are available on both Modbus protocols. The entry level FS-B4010-01 has a 1000 point capacity which can be upgraded electronically to 20 000 points. Have a look at www.fieldserver.com for more product information.

Thanks,
Richard

SIXNET offers a unit that has 1 Ethernet port, 1 RS232 port, and 1 RS485 port. Each one of the serial ports can be configured for Modbus ASCII or RTU, in slave or master mode. Therefore, one serial port can be configured to act as a Modbus ASCII master and poll the AMI-6000. The other serial port can be configured as a Modbus RTU slave to be interrogated by your Modbus RTU master. The Ethernet port would allow for future high-speed networking. Please go to http://www.sixnetio.com/html_files/products_and_groups/etgtst2.htm for details.

You can use our ProLinx Gateway 4102-MCM4 module to accomplish this. The module provides 4 serial ports, each of which can be configured as either Modbus ASCII or Modbus RTU, Master or Slave. Each port can also be configured to support RS-232, RS-422, or RS-485. More information on this module can be found at the following page: http://www.prolinxgateways.com/products/4102.html

Please call me at 661-716-5100 if you have any questions on this module and your application.
