Does anyone know of a Windows 95/98/NT communications program similar to HyperAccess that allows for transparent utilization of a protocol like Modbus? I need to create a VBA dialup program from within MS Access that will query Modbus Slaves. The HyperAccess API would be perfect except that it only allows protocols that are native to the HyperAccess API. I am trying to use a standard package and API (or scripting
language) that will allow me to utilize someone else's TAPI implementation. In other words I am trying to stay off the programming learning curve.

There's a free Modbus OPC Server at www.factorysoft.com, which has a standard OPC Automation Interface (so if you are familiar with OPC, there's no extra learning required...)
