Modbus to Android/iPhone/WiFi

I am using a Battery Management System that uses ModBus V1.1b. I want to send that info to an Android and iphone. I would also like to send that info to a wifi connection and then the internet to monitor the BMS. Is this an application that already exists? If not, can somebody help me implement it?

It would be easy if you have a Modbus over TCP. This way you can read and write register with a app on your phone. You can connect a modbus tcp to a router for wifi. We already use this setup.

This is an old post, but just wanted to follow up regarding technologies that are now available for connecting equipment to mobiles over modbus just in case anyone else is looking.

You can connect a Modbus-RTU equipped system to a mobile using a wireless signal converter. In the case of IoTize, we also provide Modbus to NFC, Bluetooth Low Energy, and (soon) Wi-Fi. These TapNPass products include"IoTize Tap Toolbox" app for Android and iOS. So, out of the box you have a tool that connects your mobile immediately to your system.

Note that you can also configure the TapNPass and create you own apps that are tailored to specific activities, users or system.

If you are connecting Modbus equipped systems to mobiles (Android, iOS)...

... IoTize are releasing an automatic app generator that works for Android and iOS. The idea is to eliminate the need to do any coding to create an app. This soution is based on the TapNPass Modbus to wireless adapters. You simply connect the TapNPass to a port, Configure it, and Generate the apps from the configuration environment.

This video shows how TapNPass works in a test implementation on an equipment that support Modbus RTU:
