does someone understand the modified smith predictor by Palmor and Powers(1985) ?

Hi,

I don't understand the smith predictor myself and wonder if you ever did get an answer that helped you.

I have a book from one of my graduate classes: "Process Dynamics, Modeling and Control" by B A Ogunnaike and WH Ray which touches on many areas of process control. They have a mathematical derivation of a smith predictor on page 605 of the book.

By the way, I highly recommend this book. It cost me just over $100.00 and I have used it many times in my work. It’s paid for itself a hundred times over.
